Litherland Road (Bootle Village).

Bootle Village, 1911

This picture was taken at the corner of Litherland Road and Merton Road. The area looks a little different now!

Behind the couple, on the right hand side is the Jawbone Tavern which is reputed to be the oldest public house in Bootle.

Looking down Litherland Road from here today, you will find The Stanley Arms, The Laburnum, The King Dicks and The Strand Tavern.

On the left hand side of the street now are new housing which have sprung up in the last few years.
